Horizon Launches a Vocational Training Project Linked to Labour Market Needs in Taiz, with the Support of the State of Kuwait and in Partnership with the International Organization for Migration In a step aimed at empowering young people and women and enhancing their opportunities in the labour market, Horizon Foundation for Development launched the Vocational Training Project Linked to Labour Market Needs in Taiz Governorate – Salah District, with the support of the State of Kuwait, in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and under the patronage of the Director General of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Office in Taiz Governorate. Horizon Foundation for Development launched the Vocational Training Project Linked to Labour Market Needs in Taiz Governorate. The project aims to strengthen livelihoods and improve employment and income opportunities for vulnerable groups by equipping participants with practical vocational skills that respond to labour market needs. The project targets 75 young people and women aged 18–29, with priority given to internally displaced persons (IDPs), vulnerable members of the host community, unemployed youth, and women with limited access to livelihood opportunities. The project includes short-term vocational training programmes tailored to market needs, including: 🔹 Electrical Installation and Maintenance 🔹 Solar Energy Systems Installation – Basic Level 🔹 Food Processing and Cooking, including Baking, Pastry Making, and Local Food Production In addition, participants will receive training in job readiness skills, CV writing, interview and communication skills, entrepreneurship and small business management, and financial literacy. The project seeks to support participants in transitioning from training to employment or self-employment, while strengthening economic self-reliance and participation and contributing to building the capacities of young people and women and opening new opportunities for them.
