The European Union Mission team, represented by Ms. Carolina Hedstrom, Head of the Cooperation Department at the European Union Mission in Yemen, along with several members of the mission, visited the projects implemented by the Horizon Foundation for Development. These projects are funded by the European Union in partnership with the Norwegian Refugee Council - Yemen Office. The purpose of the visit was to observe the progress of the livelihood strategies enhancement project among the affected populations of conflicts and disasters in Lahj Governorate.

During the visit, Ms. Carolina was briefed on the progress of the project activities and development programs implemented by the Horizon Foundation for Development as part of the livelihood strategies enhancement project among the affected populations of conflicts and disasters in Lahj Governorate.

The project focuses on promoting the growth of small-scale enterprises through providing small grants and vocational training. The foundation offers beneficiaries professional skills training in various disciplines and trains them on managing and succeeding in small enterprises.

The project aims to enhance community resilience in dealing with the impacts of current disruptions and empower those whose livelihoods have been severely disrupted to regain and rebuild their lives. It also aims to promote stability and peace by providing livelihood opportunities to vulnerable groups and improving social and economic infrastructure. It is expected to contribute to the resilience of communities.
